Besides the city wall and tower a scholar is sitting in a boat and watching the full moon reflected in the lake. Chen Huan, style name Ziwen, was a landscape painter in Suzhou. He mostly painted fans in the style Shen Zhou. Two fans by him dated 1593 and 1617 are mentioned in the sources
